Wow – this looks VERY cool! Health care & costs are over the top these days, I am going to try this ASAP. I like the thought of it being Mint for health insurance.
Health insurance isn’t a terribly easy thing to understand, and the costs behind it are even more opaque. Generally, all most people know is whether they have it or they don’t, and they hope their money is going to coverage they need. Simplee is a new service that can help clarify the picture.
Simplee has been described as “Mint for healthcare,” and that description isn’t far off. The service connects to your healthcare accounts to see what type of insurance you have, what it covers, what your out of pocket costs and deductibles are, and will break it down for you in an easy-to-digest format. If you buy your own insurance, you’ll also see other insurance plans that offer the same or alternate levels of coverage that may save you money.
For Simplee to do all of this, you have to grant it access to your healthcare accounts and allow it to pull down your medical records. That won’t sit well with a lot of people, but the service says they need the access to determine which insurance plans will actually work for you, your budget, and your medical history. Not everyone’s insurance plans or healthcare providers currently support the service, but it’s getting started much like Mint did: opening its doors to the public and adding supported healthcare companies and insurance providers over time.
