Emergency Seasoning Tips Save the Day When You Forget to Marinate

Have I mentioned that I love to grill (or BBQ as we call it out here ūüôā )? Here are some tips if you have a last minute need and want to make it tasty!

From Lifehacker:

If you’re the¬†designated grill master¬†for your holiday cookouts, you may not always have the time to marinate your meat or vegetables in advance. When that’s the case, a quick seasoning job can make a big difference.

Sure there are many quick marinades that can do the job in 15 minutes, but if you have to grill or cook immediately try this trick from food site $5 Dinners:

  1. Add some olive oil to a rimmed plate.
  2. Sprinkle spices/grill seasonings in the oil. (I prefer¬†Harvest Eating’s Nebraska Steak¬†seasoning blend)
  3. Place your meat or vegetables in the spices and oil for a few seconds, then flip to the other side to coat.

If you can let it sit in the plate for a minute or two, great, but if not you’ll be ready to go to the grill or pan with a nicely seasoned main course.¬†Photo by Flickr user¬†snowpeas&bokchoi
