DIY projects are all the rage here at Lifehacker and if you have a young one in whom you want to kindle an interest for such stuff, then MakerParent is a fantastic resource where one parent is collect activities to do with kids.

There are four categories for the projects: simple (building a fort, lifting an ice cube with a string), popular, recent and cost. You can use any two of these as filters at a time. The projects are also categorized by what age they are appropriate for, making it even easier to get the right stuff for your kid.

Each project has a short description, the apparatus needed and its rough cost, and a link to where the project was originally found on the web. Register at the site and you can bookmark projects to find them later. And yeah, you’re also invited to share projects you found around the web.
